Deeper, Higher, Closer
Man oh man. Not only was tonight a good night but God was definitely present with us this Friday night at The Bridge! Although Vanessa was unable to make it today, Perla was able to come for her first time. It was so exciting and heart warming to have her come and to be able to accompany her on her first time. Jackie was there as well, which I was so glad to see too! I met a couple of new people and seen some familiar faces before worship. Then after worship pastor D took us into the book of Joshua, chapter 14, where we talked about how Caleb served God WHOLEheartedly and how he chose the hill where the giants were (vs 12). Choosing the land with the giants over the land by the Jordan can symbolize how at times we just want life to be easy and smooth and live in a mansion without worrying about anything (the land by the Jordan) rather than a life with trials and errors (the land with the giants). However, sometimes we need those 'giants' in out lives because that's when we seek God out more. And like Caleb, we should be able to say 'I'm going to face those giant because in that I know God will be with me.' After D's message Josh shared a little on how he was called to go to Bible College, and BAM that's when God hit me! Josh started off by saying that he met a blind man and was unsure if he should go talk to him or not. Right away I thought of my uncle who's blind as well but I kept on listening. As Josh continued he said that the man he met was named Raul...that's when my heart just broke an I was convicted. Not only had I been convicted of hardly loving on my uncle as the believer that I should but God just showed himself! It doesn't amaze me of the fact that its a small world but it amazes me how God uses the same people in your life to be used in others. This was a trip! A good one, that caused me to not only see God but to be able to hear God as well. After Josh and Steph sang 'Called Me Higher' and we prayed for him as he will start a new season. Worship was just fantastic afterwards!! We had a time of afterglow and just a time to be able to get in our knees, stand, or whatever the Spirit allowed us to do. I was able to let Stacie know about the good things that God is doing in my life after all that beautifulness. Tonight was definitely a Selah moment for me. I was able to pause everything in my life for a moment and just worship God like there was no tomorrow. Tonight God definitely took me higher.
