My Jesus Filled Day

Saturday January 26, 2013
Saturday was a long day but it was also a really nice day. Friday night they mentioned that there was going to be a homeless outreach the next day and I knew I wanted to go. I was able to go for my first time during Christmas and I loved it! I was a little intimidated about going on my own but I knew I couldn't miss out on the opportunity I had to serve. Besides the fact that when I drove to church it was my first time driving on the freeway with heavy rain and fog, it ended up being a great time!! I was able to ride with pastor D and Xu, Steph, Josh, and Gaby so that was cool to ride with my Bridge peeps. At the Warehouse I was able to help out in the kitchen and help out with worship with Steph, Josh, and Gaby. It was such a blessing. I was also able to talk to a woman, Gabriella *Spanish accent*, with 2 little children. Even though I'm not fluent in my Spanish God gave me the strength and words to be able to talk to her and pray with her so that was really nice. At the beginning of the outreach before we left Steph had told me that someone told her that there was a young girl who wanted to go to The Bridge but didn't know who she was. At first I thought it was me because she said she was short but it wasn't. During my time in the kitchen I ended up meeting our mystery girl, Perla. She was a really nice and sweet girl and has an amazing testimony by the way! The way she wanted to grow more in the Lord was just a beautiful and encouraging thing to see and hear from her. God really gave me a heart for this girl and I couldn’t just let her leave without inviting her to the Bridge so I didn’t! After when we got back I was able to get her number so that I could remind her about the Bridge on Friday which I'm totally excited for!!!
My car then didn't turn on because I left my headlights on for the five hours we were gone, WOOPS! However, it was totally a divine appointment that God made for me and Steph. She invited me out to get a little yogurt and might I say it was a great time, I loved it! We were able to talk, get to know each other a little more, just fellowship and encourage one another. It was really cool to hang out with her. After hanging out I went home for about an hour and a half to go see my parents since I hadn't seen them all day...turns out as I was turning onto my street they were leaving...great.
After being home alone for a bit I decided to head to pastor D and Xu's house for their home fellowship. I was a bit nervous again, going alone, but also because of the fact that their street only consists of parallel parking and I cant do that! ha ha BUT the Lord made a way thankfully! The time of fellowship was great! only four people went but God definitely chose the right people to show up. We ate some food, thank God (I hadn’t eaten all day!) and after D did some worship and we just prayed and prayed and prayed some more and did some more worship. It was such an intimate time and it was just beautiful!!
I wish I would've continued my weekend streak with some church on Sunday but i didn't go unfortunately. However I definitely have to say that my weekend was beyond great! I was definitely blessed this weekend by being able to serve, fellowship with those who love Jesus, and just hanging with Jesus himself. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. When they say God makes everything perfect in His time, I truly believe that. I hope and pray that that God will continue to do the beautiful work that he is doing in my life. In His Name...
