Yesterdays devos made me cringe just a little:
"Paul and his companions . . . [were] kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia." (Acts 16:6)
"In after years Paul would do some of the greatest work of his life in that very region; but just now the door was closed against him by the Holy Spirit. The time was not yet ripe for the attack on these apparently impregnable bastions of the kingdom of Satan. Apollos must come there for pioneer work. Paul and Barnabas are needed yet more urgently elsewhere, and must receive further training before undertaking this responsible task."
Impregnable: unable to be captured or defeated
Bastions: an insitution, place ,or person strongly defending or upholding particular principles
It's true when people say that things will happen in 'Gods perfect timing.' God is always in control. and He knows best. But how often are we okay with His perfect place and time? How often are we submitting our own discernments of timing to the Lord?
I am not going to lie, this verse scares me. It scares me because i am currently praying for open doors this year in regards to missions, school, etc... But what would happen if the Lord said no? Would i continue to persist in my current calling until otherwise told by Him?
Lord help me to pray prayers of faith. Prayers that would humble me to ask You to close all the doors and open the right ones. Prayers of confidence and not of defeat. Help me to see that you are preparing me, sharpening me, so that when the time is right i am well equipped because i simply waited for you to say "GO."
"Is there some problem in your life to solve,
Some passage seeming full of mystery?
God knows, who brings the hidden things to light.
He keeps the key.
Is there some door closed by the Father's hand
Which widely opened you had hoped to see?
Trust God and wait--for when He shuts the door
He keeps the key.
Is there some earnest prayer unanswered yet,
Or answered NOT as you had thought 'twould be?
God will make clear His purpose by-and-by.
He keeps the key.
Have patience with your God, your patient God,
All wise, all knowing, no long tarrier He,
And of the door of all thy future life
He keeps the key.
Unfailing comfort, sweet and blessed rest,
To know of EVERY door He keeps the key.
That He at last when just HE sees 'tis best,
Will give it THEE."

PD sharing more of the vision for 2016 for the Mission Ministry. Praying for upcoming events, PRAYER is powerful. Also super privileged that our church is SO diverse when it comes to age and culture. Privileged to be able to hang out with my titas and gleam knowledge from them. Ended my night with more prayer and apparently a yoga sesh with some lovely faces.
