365 Days of Twenty: Birthdays and Procrastination. Day 1 and 2/365

Day 1: September 1, 2014
Birthdays are overated for me. I think like a lot of people, I've grown up expecting and expecting so much out of them, but sometimes it just ends up being a casual day and that's O.K. Besides all my bitterness though, after a whole bunch of debating whether or not to run or volunteer, I volunteered at the Conquer the Bridge race. I ended up being the one of the hydraters (giving water to the runners). Just imagine 3 thousand runners (including your fitness coach lol) coming toward you over the Vincent Thomas bridge, running (or walking in some cases), and taking/snatching that water out of your hand. Spilling, throwing, you name it. Yup. Oh did I mention saying "your welcome" about 500 times, nbd. It felt good though, serving the community. The best part was finishing the race with the last runner, a women who had cerebral palsy. It was truly inspiring seeing her not just run the race but finish it. It kind of reminded of the spiritual race I'm running. I'm sure there will be plenty more 'casual' birthdays for me but the most important thing is to have a thankful heart, so thank you God for twenty years of life and making my birthday on a day where I don't have to work. Looking forward to seeing how much I grow physically, mentally, and most of all spiritually in this next year.
P.S. I really want to stay consistent with this blog this time! lol

Day 2: September 2nd, 2014
Procrastination is what today consisted of. Does anyone else wake up at 7 o clock in the morning and stay in bed till 10 o clock ON THIER PHONE? Yup that's me sometimes. Highlights...wait let's do...(brain fart: GUYS what's the opposite of highlight of the day, like the bad part? Haha). The worst part of my day, hmm, I'd say procrastinating. It takes up my time! I'd say its one of my worst characteristics. I could've got so much more done (like washing my car). I'll have to work on that. Highlights? There's a few. Cutting my hair FOR SURE. I was actually surprised that I wanted it a little shorter than how it came it. New year new look I guess haha! Visiting grams was nice too. Can't believe she's 62 years older than me, quite a difference there huh? As she gets older I start to admire her more and more. Every detail. From the way she walks to the way she eats her food. She's a strong lady, I really give it to her for being such an strong women. And thanks to my handy dandy new gopro I get to capture all these little things she does and says. Coming home had to be a highlight too. We somehow had family time, minus my dad who was at work (bummer) but like my brother said it's a start and we'll expand it to when he joins us. It always turns out all of us talking over the other so we made a system, anyone who had the ball would ask a question and then we'd answer or comment once we had the ball in our hands. Cheesy I know, but it was cool! The system eventually got lost cause we all ended up talking over each other after 5 minutes (we'll work on that haha). To end my night I'm spending it with God. The last few months have been a little stressing I see a pattern if making decision after decision. I question God where I'm suppose to be every other day. Romans 8:28 is the verse I just encountered. "We all know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." Deng that's deep girl! God is the director of my life, "Actors don't always know the reasons why the director orders certain scenes, but when they perform according to the instructions, the production succeeds." I don't know which way I'm heading but I know that wherever I go its where I'm suppose to be because of Him. Same for you. God continue to be the director of my life in this new season and chapter.

Night,
Xoxo Jess
